Like the wise bridesmaids in today's Gospel, the challenge is for each one of us to keep our faith alive and our lamps lit as we wait to welcome the Lord. This waiting can be challenging as we become complacent and prone to distractions over time, and gradually let our lights become dim. Just like running a marathon, we need to persevere, prepare and condition ourselves for the long race ahead. We pray that our faith be deeply anchored in our Lord, so that our lamps may remain brightly lit as we become visible witnesses to others in the world we live in.
