A statue of Catholic St. Junipero Serra was torn down in San Francisco, CA on June 20, and in Los Angeles on the same day, rioters pulled down a statue of St. Junipero. The Catholic bishops of California say the saint was “ahead of his time” in defending the rights of indigenous peoples.
