His Name is Jesus, Immanuel God With Us | Crossroads Christian Fellowship Kauai

“Names are the sweetest and most important sound in any language.” ― Dale Carnegie, How to Win Friends and Influence People http://www.crossroadskauai.org On this Sunday, Dana Nadeau delivers our message and shares a little about the Christmas Story and Jesus Since it's Christmas time, we are reading out of Matthew Chapter 1:18 where we learn how the birth of Jesus came about. Jesus: He will save the people from their sins. They will call him Immanuel - God With Us a mans name to him is the sweetest sound of any language... Our names are important and many parents like to name their children something that often represents their hopes or aspirations for that child. In scripture, many are named for what they look like. For example, "Esau" means Hairy and he was also known as "Edom" - red, so he might have been a hairy red guy. Dana then shares a little about his own name and shares some experiences he has had with his name. He then shared a cleaned up version of the song, " A Boy Named Sue" by Johnny Cash Names are important and God had some thoughts on what his son ought to be named and so he instructed Mary and Joseph to name him Jesus. Jesus means Jehovah, our salvation! Dana continues and talks a little about Salvation and shares the things that Jesus has saved us from: 1. The guilt of sin - we are freed from this through Jesus blood 2. The power of Sin - if we are born again, God wants us to be walking in freedom, not enslaved to sin. Listen through to hear the 3rd thing we are saved from. Enjoy the remainder of this video as Dana shares more about how you can have the life God intends for you, one of freedom, joy, and peace, no matter what is happening around you.
