3/16/25 “Words to Build a Life Upon” Traditional Worship Service
Lent 2 “Words to Build a Life Upon” Scripture is Luke 6:43-49 Rev, Stuart Spencer Preaching WAY #23 – Worship With Your Whole Heart Pastors Spencer and Allen preach an eight-Sunday sermon series called, Walking the Way of Jesus. Following Jesus is more than going to church or believing the right things; it is practicing a way of life. The meaning of “follow Jesus” is rooted in 1st century practices of rabbis and apprentices, practices that inform our understanding of how to follow Jesus today. Using Luke’s Gospel as our guide, FPC Moorestown begins walking the way of Jesus. In Luke’s Gospel, discipleship is the practice of following Jesus as a teacher and master, and helping others do the same. Luke’s Gospel portrays discipleship as a way of life that involves sacrifice, commitment, and a variety of other life-altering practices. Memory Verse: “Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.
