Prime Rib Perfectly Roasted in a Cast Iron Skillet for 2023 Thanksgiving Dinner #PrimeRibRoast

Date Recorded: Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, 2023 Garlic, Butter & Herbs Prime Rib Ingredients: 6 pounds Black Angus Standing Rib Roast Flavor Blend Butter Mixture 1 Stick Soft Butter 6 large Garlic Cloves (Pressed or Minced) 2 teaspoons dried Oregano 2 teaspoons dried Parsley 1 teaspoons dried Thyme 1 teaspoon dried Rosemary 1 teaspoon fresh Ground Black Pepper 1/2 teaspoon ground White Pepper 1 tablespoon Sea-Salt Directions: 1. Mash together soft Butter, Garlic, Oregano, Parsley, Thyme, Rosemary, Black Pepper, White Pepper and Sea-Salt. 2. Rinse and pat dry the Standing Rib Roast. Place it on a plate. Spread the Flavor Blend Butter Mixture all over the meat. Cover with plastic wrap and store in the fridge overnight. 3. Take the Rib Roast out of the fridge at least 2 hours before roasting or until it reaches ROOM TEMPERATURE. 4. Remove the plastic cover and move it to a Cast Iron Skillet or a Roasting Pan bone side down while waiting for it to reach room temperature. 5. Preheat the oven to 450°F or 232°C. 6. Roast for 30 minutes at this temperature, uncovered. 7. After 30 minutes, reduce the temperature to 375°F or 190°C. Cover loosely with foil and continue roasting for about 45 minutes to an hour or until the meat internal temperature reaches 130°F. 8. Let the roast rest for 20 minutes before slicing to lock in the juices. Note: I always heat up the plates before serving to keep the meat warm during dinner. Just make sure you let the guest or family members know that the plates are hot.
