I am drumming since 20+ years, am an audio engineer, and also love going to concerts. That may be the worst combination for ear health. And while I always take care of my ears (with ear plugs basically always in my pocket), that wasn't the case in the early years of my drumming So when a few years back I noticed this persistent ringing in my ears, I thought this was just the price that I had to pay for not taking care of my ears at the beginning of my musical journey. But recently I noticed also that I have a feeling of pressure or tension on the right side of my face, from the jaw to the ears. I went to see an ENT doctor because of that. He made a comprehensive hearing test with the wonderful result, that my hearing is perfectly fine - no damage at all. He did however found, that I have a pain in the jaw. So he assumed that my problem could be caused by my teeth or my jaw. I then went to a dentist who is also some kind of chiropractor. And she found out, that I am completely stiff. My muscles are hard like a stone, so it is no wonder that I feel tension on my face. She said the teeth are not the root of this problem, but the victims. I clenched my jaw plus my not-ideal posture applied even more pressure on to my teeth. Teeth, Jaw, and ears are all interconnected, so it may be that the tinnitus is caused by that. She gave me some remedies for my problem, and it seems that they are already helping. If you're struggling with tinnitus or related symptoms, know that you're not alone. Seeking professional help and exploring various remedies can lead to relief and improved quality of life.
