Chilli Chicken Noodles - Ramadan Recipes Ep.16⭐️🌙 These chilli chicken noodles make a great family meal! Don’t be put off by the long recipe, it’s actually pretty simple to make and doesn’t require too many ingredients. RECIPE (serves 6 when served with noodles and chips) Ingredients For the chicken marinade:- 4-5 chicken breasts, cut into 1 inch cubes or strips 4 cloves garlic, minced 1 tbsp chilli flakes 2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce 2 tbsp dark soy sauce 1/2 tsp white pepper Salt to taste For the chicken coating:- Southern fry powder (I use Tropics special chicken fry mix or KTC original chicken fry mix) 2 heaped tbsp cornflour Sprinkle of salt For the sauce:- 3 tbsp stir fry oil 4 tbsp sesame oil 1 onion chopped 6 spring onions, chopped (white/light green parts) 1 small-medium green pepper, cut into thick cubes or strips 1 small-medium red pepper, cut into thick cubes or strips 3 tbsp sweet chilli sauce 3 tbsp hot chilli sauce (thick chilli sauce with pips) 4 tbsp dark soy sauce 2 tbsp light soy sauce Water (as required) 1/4 tsp ground black pepper 1/2 tsp white pepper Salt to taste For the noodles:- 2 packets egg noodles (Aldi, fridge section) 1 heaped tbsp garlic granules/ garlic powder 2 tbsp sesame oil 2 tbsp Sweet chilli sauce 1 tsp ground black pepper 2-3 tbsp water For the Chips:- Chips Salt to taste Ground Black pepper Oregano Paprika Garnish:- Spring onions (dark green parts) Sesame seeds Method 1. Mix the chicken marinade ingredients in with the chicken and set aside. 2. Add stir fry oil and sesame oil to a heated wok, followed by chopped onions and white/light green parts of spring onions. 3. Allow to cook for a couple of minutes then add in the peppers. 4. Cook this for another 2 minutes and then add all of the sauces and seasonings. 5. Allow to thicken for a few minutes, adding a little water if needed (the sauce should be slightly thin at this point). 6. Coat chicken in seasoned flour and deep fry for a few minutes (doesn’t take long to cook with this marinade and size of the chicken pieces). 7. For the egg noodles, add the ingredients listed, mix and then add in the egg noodles with a couple of splashes of water, mixing regularly - they should be ready in 3-4 minutes. 8. Fry the chips, and add the seasonings listed. 9. Add the fried chicken to the sauce and mix well. 10. Add some water or more chilli sauce if needed - if the sauce is too watery, you can add some cornflour slurry. 11. To serve plate up the chilli chicken, noodles and chips and sprinkle with sesame seeds and the green parts of spring onion. Notes/Tips:- It’s best to do all of the prep (chopping, mixing sauces and seasonings) before starting to cook. There may be a few more plates to wash, but the dish will come together a lot easier. You can mix the saucy chicken in with the noodles after cooking if you prefer to serve it this way. The chilli chicken also goes well with egg fried rice. You can serve this instead of the egg noodles if preferred. The fried chicken soaks up a lot of the sauce, so serve immediately if you want it to be saucy or make some seperate sauce on the stove or microwave, using soy sauce, sesame oil and sweet + hot chilli sauces and top with this before eating. The chicken can be coated and cooked straight after adding the ingredients to it, however you can marinate it the day before, leave in fridge overnight and coat and fry the next day, to make things a little easier. #asmrcooking #ramadan #friedchicken
