"Who Can Protect You from All Evil?" Surah Al-Falaq (سورة الفلق) – Chapter 113 of the Quran. Arabic Text: بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ (1) مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ (2) وَمِنْ شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ (3) وَمِنْ شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ (4) وَمِنْ شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ (5) --- English Translation: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 1. Say, "I seek refuge with the Lord of the dawn (daybreak), 2. From the evil of what He has created, 3. And from the evil of the darkness when it spreads, 4. And from the evil of those who blow on knots (practicing witchcraft), 5. And from the evil of an envier when he envies." --- Urdu Translation: اللہ کے نام سے جو نہایت مہربان، رحم کرنے والا ہے۔ 1. کہو، میں پناہ مانگتا ہوں صبح کے رب کی، 2. ہر اس چیز کے شر سے جو اس نے پیدا کی، 3. اور اندھیرے کے شر سے جب وہ چھا جائے، 4. اور ان (جادوگرنیوں) کے شر سے جو گرہوں میں پھونک مارتی ہیں، 5. اور حسد کرنے والے کے شر سے جب وہ حسد کرے۔ --- Explanation (Tafsir Summary): Verse 1: Allah commands the Prophet (ﷺ) to seek His protection as the "Lord of the dawn," signifying His power to bring light after darkness. Verse 2: Protection is sought from all harmful creatures, whether seen or unseen, natural or supernatural. Verse 3: This refers to the dangers of the night, including crimes, unseen threats, and harmful spiritual entities. Verse 4: A reference to those who practice black magic and sorcery, specifically those who tie knots and blow on them, a common method in witchcraft. Verse 5: Jealousy can lead people to harm others. This verse highlights the destructive power of envy and the need for divine protection. Surah Al-Falaq, along with Surah An-Nas, is often recited for seeking Allah’s protection from evil forces. It is part of the Mu'awwidhatain (the two protective Surahs) and was frequently recited by Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) for protection. Fazilat (Virtues) of This Verse: 1.
