In our portal you have the possibility to book tastings tour in order to experience an unique stay in our Island. From a geographical and wine-making point of view, Sicily can be divided into four macro areas: east, centre, west and, finally, the islands of Pantelleria and Favignana. The east is represented by Etna, province of Catania, with its native vineyards, climbed up to 1100 meters, Carricante, used alone to produce the Etna Bianco DOC, and Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio that give life to the oldest DOC of the island: the Etna Rosso DOC. In the north-eastern corner, province of Messina, is produced the white Mamertino DOC wine, obtained from Ansonica and Grillo grapes, and the red obtained from Nero d'Avola grapes and from the valuable Nocera grapes. In particular, the famous Malvasia dolce delle Lipari is produced on the island of Salina: a sweet and fortified wine, obtained thanks to the aromatic vine and Corinto Nero grapes, but also the appreciated dry Malvasia. In the southeast corner of the island, in the province of Syracuse, we find some typical excellences of the territory such as Moscato (Passito, sparkling and liqueur) and the vines of Eloro DOC (Frappato, Pignatello, Nero d'avola and Pachino). Whereas, in the province of Ragusa, renowned for the production of structured reds produced with Nero D'avola and Frappato grapes, Cerasuolo di Vittoria (unique Sicilian DOCG) and Rosso di Pachino (obtained from Nero D'avola grapes) are produced. In the centre of the island, in the provinces of Enna, Caltanissetta and Agrigento, especially in the areas of Butera, Riesi, Mazzarino and Contessa Entellina, are cultivated autochthonous vines - Ansonica, Catarratto, Grecanico, Grillo and Nero d'Avola; together with Italian and international vines such as Fiano, Chardonnay, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah. While in the province of Palermo, in particular in the areas of Partinico, Camporeale and Monreale, we find fine white wines (Grillo, Catarratto and Inzolia) and red wines (Cabernet, Syrah, Nero d'Avola and Merlot). The western territory, with its soft and calcareous terroir and the help of the sea breeze, has always been suited to the cultivation of wine grapes. In these territories were born the first Wine Cellars of the island, some of them have preserved the ancient Historical Cellars as precious jewels to visit. In the province of Trapani, more than half of the island’s grapes are grown. Particularly interesting are some wines produced in Erice, such as Alcamo Doc. In Marsala we find the famous wine of the same name, with a long and troubled history, which is now produced by the best companies using only Grillo. Finally, the fourth Sicilian area is that of the islands of Favignana and Pantelleria where are produced some of the best sweet wines of Italy, obtained from dried grapes, such as Pantesco Zibibbo, raised on the terraces typical of the beautiful Mediterranean island.
