Chapter 16 narrates His miraculous provision of manna from heaven to sustain Israel throughout their entire wilderness sojourn. The New Testament connects manna to the Word of God, which sustains spiritual life, and ultimately to Jesus Himself,  the Bread of Life—the source of spiritual life.
