Layer Opacity will change the transparency of object that in the selected layer. Fill will change the transparency of whatever is filling the layer. but ignore effects that have been applied to it. for example, 1. I will show the Learners Friendly Network text in this Photoshop class. 2. First I select the Learners Friendly Network text. 3. then you see the opacity option in top of the layer panel. 4. then you select opacity option. Now move left side in mouse. 5. Now you see transparency level is increase in that Learners Friendly Network text. 6. Now move right side of the mouse magically increase that Learners Friendly Network text transparency level. Same process will happening in all type of texts, images and shapes. 1. Fill option is different from opacity option. 2. I show the student image in this Photoshop class. 3. Now double click the image in layer. 4. Now set the drop shadow or any effect and apply to it. then you see fill option in top of the layer panel. 5. Drag the left side mouse. you see that magic student image transparency level is decrease but drop shadow effect is not change. this is the difference between layer fill and opacity in adobe photoshop.
