[Sermon] Embraced by Grace: A Full Lenten Journey + March 16, 2025 + Jeff Tobin

Sermon for March 16, 2025 Jeff Tobin Trinity Lutheran Church & Schools Lent, typically seen as a time of scarcity, is reimagined this Sunday as a time of fullness—full of God's embrace and protection. Jeff Tobin’s sermon highlights the powerful image of being gathered under God’s wings, as expressed in both the Gospel of Luke and Psalm 121. As we continue through the "Full to the Brim" series, Jeff invites us to reflect on how God’s protective love shapes our Lenten journey, urging us to let go of anxiety and lean into God’s abundance. This message calls us to trust in God's care, especially when facing personal and societal challenges, and find strength in the wings of grace. ---------------------------- Second Sunday of Lent FULL TO THE BRIM: UNDER GOD'S WING ---------------------------- God is our refuge. There is nothing that can separate you from God, or could keep God from gathering you in, protecting you fiercely. Jesus’ lament for Jerusalem is surprising given how he is treated by Jerusalem. And yet, no matter how much we try to separate ourselves from God, God will run to protect us. God’s love for us is fuller than we can imagine.
