In 2017, Alpha Blondy performed at the Summerjam Festival in Cologne, where Rockpalast recorded his concert. Yet his early days were far from easy: Shortly after recording his first tracks, his producer disappeared with the tapes, and Koné suffered a nervous breakdown. Since the mid-1980s, he has been releasing pop-infused Afro-reggae. He sings not only in English, but also in Hebrew, French, Arabic, and several West African languages.
