8 Jewfish landed in Sydney Harbour 6th June 2021

Today's target species is Sydney arrow squid. So armed with my paternoster rig and using a 15g slowjig as a sinker and the Yamashita Egi Sutte R Squid Jig 2.5 (BO colour) I decided to chase squid for dinner. Couldn't find them anywhere until I located lump of bait at the bottom. Dropped the jig and got a nice size #squid which went straight into the double zip lock bag. For the next 2 hours it was non stop baby jewfish, squid, tailor, squid, tailor, baby jewfish, baby jewfish, baby jewfish...... Never had so much fun in ages! The bait school eventually moved on so I moved spots and finally hooked a legal size jewfish that put a great fight on the egi setup. In total 8 jewfish/mulloway, 4 tailor, 3 squid. I also pulled hooks on another big jewfish, that took a massive run! Unfortunately no kingfish today but I can't complain as fishing in Sydney ! A tip that most ppl already know but I'll remind you incase you've forgotten, find the bait ball and the predators won't be far behind.
