Frosty - #HolidayShorts

Frosty - #HolidayShorts Original lyrics with s new melody. #ChristmasCovers "Frosty the Snowman" is a song by Walter "Jack" Rollins and Steve Nelson, first recorded by Gene Autry in 1950. Following the success of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," Rollins and Nelson approached Autry for another holiday hit. The song tells the story of Frosty, a snowman who comes to life when children put a magical hat on his head. He plays with them until the sun threatens to melt him. Frosty assures the kids, "I'll be back again someday." Though it's considered a Christmas song, Christmas isn't mentioned in the lyrics. The story is set in New York, and Armonk holds an annual parade for Frosty. Many artists have covered the song, including Jimmy Durante and Nat King Cole, with some versions charting in the U.S. The Ronettes' 1963 version is especially popular. Other covers include instrumental versions by Canadian Brass and the Hampton String Quartet, as well as a lyrical cover by the Cocteau Twins. The Jackson 5 also included it on their Christmas album, and Tarja Turunen released a version on her Christmas album.
