Psalm 104:25 (BCP)   Confession Officiant: Let us humbly confess our sins unto Almighty God. People: Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against your holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done, and we have done those things which we ought not to have done; and apart from your grace, there is no health in us.  O Lord, have mercy upon us. Spare all those who confess their faults. Restore all those who are penitent, according to your promises declared to all people in Christ Jesus our Lord. And grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may now live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to the glory of your holy Name. Amen. Officiant: Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen.   The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.   Invitatory & Psalms Officiant: O God, make speed to save us.  People: O Lord, make haste to help us.  Officiant & People: Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:  as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.   O Gracious Light Phos hilaron O gracious Light,  pure brightness of the everliving Father in heaven, O Jesus Christ, holy and blessed! Now as we come to the setting of the sun,  and our eyes behold the vesper light,  we sing your praises, O God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. You are worthy at all times to be praised by happy voices,  O Son of God, O Giver of life, and to be glorified through all the worlds.   Psalm 126 In convertendo 1 When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, * then were we like those who dream. 2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, * and our tongue with shouts of joy. 3 Then they said among the nations, * “The Lord has done great things for them.” 4 The Lord has done great things for us, * and we are glad indeed. 5 Restore our fortunes, O Lord, * like the watercourses of the Negev. 6 Those who sowed with tears * will reap with songs of joy. 7 Those who go out weeping, carrying the seed, * will come again with joy, shouldering their sheaves.   Psalm 128 Beati omnes 1 Happy are they all who fear the Lord, * and who follow in his ways! 2 You shall eat the fruit of your labor; * happiness and prosperity shall be yours. 3 Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine within your house, * your children like olive shoots round about your table. 4 The man who fears the Lord * shall thus indeed be blessed. 5 The Lord bless you from Zion, * and may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life. 6 May you live to see your children’s children; * may peace be upon Israel.   Psalm 131 Domine, non est 1 O Lord, I am not proud; * I have no haughty looks. 2 I do not occupy myself with great matters, * or with things that are too hard for me. 3 But I still my soul and make it quiet, like a child upon its mother’s breast; * my soul is quieted within me. 4 O Israel, wait upon the Lord, * from this time forth for evermore.     Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:  as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.   The Lessons Amos 7:1-8 English Standard Version This is what the Lord God showed me: behold, he was forming locusts when the latter growth was just beginning to sprout, and behold, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings. When they had finished eating the grass of the land, I said, “O Lord God, please forgive!     How can Jacob stand?     He is so small!” The Lord relented concerning this:     “It shall not be,” said the Lord. This is what the Lord God showed me: behold, the Lord God was calling for a judgment by fire, and it devoured the great deep and was eating up the land. Then I said, “O Lord God, please cease!     How can Jacob stand?     He is so small!” The Lord relented concerning this:  ...
