Chicago teachers march to oppose budget and job cuts

Thousands of teachers marched in downtown Chicago February 4th to oppose threats by school authorities to cut 1,000 jobs and slash $100 million from the school budget. The school board hand-picked by Mayor Rahm Emanuel issued the threat after the Chicago Teachers Union bargaining committee under immense pressure from the rank and file rejected a concessions contract pushed by CTU leadership.
