Instagram: / mjenhancedyt This was the first show of Michael Jackson's Dangerous tour. The setlist included "The Way You Make Me Feel" and "Bad," which were later removed after the Oslo concert. In "Jam," Michael uses playback but adds some of his signature "aows" and "heehees," making it a very entertaining performance. For "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'," Michael sang in the original pitch, but it seemed like he struggled along with the backing vocals, making it a bit painful to listen to. In "Human Nature," he sounded beautiful as always. Michael also used playback in "Smooth Criminal," but the band absolutely nailed the instrumental. I enjoyed it a lot, although the playback started late, and the gunshot sound effects at the end took too long to come in, creating a likely embarrassing moment. The technical team didn't seem to be having their best day. "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" sounded great and beautiful. The falsetto he did at the end was impressive and made the performance more enjoyable. Siedah Garrett also performed wonderfully, though she had a slight voice crack near the end. There isn’t much to say about "She's Out of My Life"; it sounds the same at all the concerts. During the Jackson 5 Medley, Michael sang "Darlin' take it slow" in falsetto, the backing vocals didn't sound very good on "I'll Be There." In "Thriller," Michael used playback, but the synths sounded incredible to me. "Billie Jean" featured Michael sounding spectacular. I particularly enjoyed the drums and hi-hats. During the breakdown, besides Kevin, you could also hear Siedah and Darryl, which is rare. David's guitar in "Workin' Day and Night" sounded extremely beautiful, and Michael sounded pretty normal as the rest of the tour. For "Beat It," Michael seemed to take his time transitioning during the magic trick. Also, "Beat It" was pitched higher, Michael seemed to struggle with the high pitch. In "Will You Be There," Michael used playback, but I liked the synths; they sounded different from the rest of the tour. In "The Way You Make Me Feel," Michael used playback for part of the song, but when he didn't, he sounded incredible. For "Bad," Michael also used playback, but the band performed very well in this song. It was one of my favorite instrumentals, and the backing vocals sounded great. There was a delay in the playback ending, but Michael sounded fantastic during the adlibs. Towards the end of the song, he wore a different hat from his usual style, one he had never worn before. In "Black Or White," the playback seemed to fail at the start, so Michael ended up singing some parts live. Once the playback resumed, you could hear him softly in some parts. For "Heal the World," Michael used playback. Overall, this song is always the same in every show. In "Man In The Mirror," there was a strange fail at the beginning. Michael sang without playback for the first few seconds, and once the playback started, Siedah's voice was more prominent than Michael's, but she sounded incredible. Michael's adlibs were hoarse. It seemed like they took too long to set up the rig for Michael to fly, or the band built up the tension sounding at the wrong time, as they repeated "Make That Change" many times at the end.
