Paul Edwin Ross, age 96, born February 11, 1927, in Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away in Memphis, TN, on January 6, 2024, where he resided since 1966. Paul and Nina Preston Ross were married on July 5, 1951, in Peoria, Illinois. He is survived by three children: Becky Ross McRae of Memphis, Penny Ross-Corona (Joe) of St. Louis, Missouri, Paul Preston Ross (Jan) of Memphis; nine grandchildren: Paul Michael Ross (Alex), Heather Sprague (Joel), Jacob Ross (Sara), Ellen Earthman Tullock (Nic), Doug Earthman (Brittany), Margaret Walch (Trevor), Casi Corona, Shelby Morphis (Zach), Austin Bounds (Leanna); twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Preston Ross, his parents, Leslie J. and May Ross and his brother, Leslie J. Ross, Jr. Mr. Ross was a member of Lindenwood Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Memphis and was a Life Elder there. He was confirmed at Central Evangelical Church (now Central United Church of Christ), in Jefferson City. He had a 30-year career with Levi Strauss and Co./Oberman Mfg. Co. before retiring in 1982. He was a musician and played string bass with a number of dance bands during the big band era and was a charter member of the Kapitol Kicks, a dance band comprised of former professional musicians. He was a licensed American Kennel Club dog show judge, having judged extensively in the U.S.A. and also internationally. He and his wife were founders of the Greater Shelby Kennel Club in Memphis.
