JOURNEYING TOGETHER | The Word Exposed with Cardinal Tagle (January 5, 2025) Today is the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord. We are celebrating the manifestation of God in the Child Jesus to the Magi from the East. This is an important event, brothers and sisters, because God Himself revealed His Son, the newborn King of the Jews, to the Gentiles, or the people of non Jewish background. God Himself guided these people by showing them a star, which served as their compass. In other words, through this event, God communicated the universality of His saving plan. Having found the child Jesus, the Magi were overjoyed. They prostrated themselves before him and offered him their gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. They did not return to Herod after being warned. Today's feast invites the people of different nations to journey together.
