Hearthstone Heroes of Warcraft - Warlock VS Shaman - Low Budget Warlock Murloc Deck
While Murlocs often fall out of favor due to their lack of flexibility in the competative meta game, these adorable little swarming fish-people still pack a punch in casual play and against certain matchups up to around rank 7 or 8. Shamans did get the upper hand on new Goblins vs Gnomes murloc cards with Siltfin Spiritwalker and Neptulon, making the Shaman feel like the optimal choice for a murloc deck - however, these two cards are a bit outshined by what Warlocks already bring to the table: Warlocks already can Lifetap for card draw, so Siltfin gets a bit replaced. If a murloc decks lasts to turn 7 to even play Neptulon instead of a finisher like Leeroy... you're probably in bad shape. Warlocks have great complementary spells and early minions that emphasize the murloc all-in playstyle So, Warlocks still remain a powerful choice for murloc-heavy 'Aquarium' decks. Besides innate card draw, there are a few new GvG cards that help to make the Mur-Lock a more viable deck choice. Let's take a look at the necessary cards: General Strategy The mid-budget murloc deck provides cheap, effective, and aggressive cards that can put pressure on an opponent faster than almost any other deck out there. Murlocs can go toe-to-toe with new mech decks and can typically out-rush other aggro decks. Board value will be everything in most matchups and you should always prioritize efficient non-murloc minion trading where possible. Start with Voidwalkers and Flame Imps to bait out early removal spells and effective trades as you build up your board advantage. Since murloc decks are 99.9% hyper aggressive, shoot to end the game early before late-game control-y cards hit the board. The way you play the first few turns is very vital, so take your time to think ahead and ensure a tight mana curve. For example: Young Priestess and Murloc Tidecaller are both fantastic early cards that WILL generate a ton of value over time if allowed to live, so you must play carefully and consider what removal spells and offensive hero powers that you will have to play around in order to keep them chugging along.
