The game was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on March 22, 2019. The game follows a Sengoku period shinobi known as Seju as he attempts to take revenge on a samurai who attacked him and kidnapped his lord. The game takes place in a re-imagined late 16th century Sengoku period Japan. The player takes control of a shinobi who was left for dead after his lord was kidnapped and his arm severed by a leading samurai of the Ashina clan.
