
“Rare Lung Diseases: Opportunities and Threats" – Prof Gerry McElvaney | RCSI MyHealth Lecture
In this talk, Professor Gerry McElvaney, Professor of Medicine at RCSI and Consultant Respiratory Physician at Beaumont Hospital, discusses why rare lung diseases, such as Cystic Fibrosis, Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency and COPD, are so prevalent in Ireland. He also explains how drugs, used to treat such illnesses, work and why they are so expensive.
