The Weird and the Wonderful Episode CXIII: Randall's Round by Eleanor Scott
Eleanor Scott was the pseudonym of generally unsucessful British writer Helen M. Leys, author of such works as "Puss in the Corner" and "War Among Ladies", who is nowadays remembered mainly for her 1929 collection of Jamesian Ghost stories entitled "Randall's Round", offering the reader tales of possession, human sacrifice, vampirism and monstrous shapes arising from the mud at dusk. Images are courtesy of Amazon, abebook.co.uk, dustjackets.com and richarddalbyslibrary.com and are used under the principles of fair use. Sadly I don't have access to the 1996 Ash Tree Press edition which contains photos of Scott, so I had to include a very small scan of the page which includes a profile shot of her, which is the only picture of her I was able to find online period.
