December 11, 2022: The Third Sunday of Advent | Saint Luke Chicago

A warm welcome to all who are gathered in the name of Christ today. Even though we are physically distanced, we remain spiritually connected. Please visit our website for access to the bulletin and more online resources visit stlukechicago.org/church Prayer requests may be shared via stlukechicago.org/prayer The third week of Advent—we are still waiting. Three of the four candles now burn in the Advent wreath in the center aisle. We know our waiting time is almost over. We see the Light coming from afar. We rejoice in his impending arrival and share our joy with those who watch with us. We recognize the Light in the words of the Baptizer and bring our lives in line with his call for repentance and service. New to Saint Luke? It gives the child a sense of belonging and a new relationship with Christ and the Church. If you feel your son/daughter is ready to receive their First Communion or you would like your child to receive instruction on First Communion, please plan to attend a brief meeting with Pastor Bouman on Sunday, December 18, immediately following the 9:30 a.m. service. Join the Hot Soup Mission's final delivery of 2022! We are feeding our unhoused neighbors on Wednesday, December 21st, and would love your participation. We have our meal and hot chocolate but would love a few more helpers. We meet at Saint Luke between 5:00 - 5:30 pm and leave at 5:45 pm to deliver the meals. We finish around 6:30 pm. If you can volunteer or have questions, please email Lisa ([email protected]) or Paul ([email protected]). A reminder that high schoolers can earn community service hours. Thank you!
