In this video, I take a quick look back at the history of amiibo prices from their debut in 2014 to today. When amiibo first launched alongside Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, they were only $12.99 each. Over the years, prices crept up with special editions like Yarn Yoshi, Mega Yarn Yoshi, the Breath of the Wild Guardian, Detective Pikachu, Monster Hunter Rise figures, and the Tears of the Kingdom lineup. Nintendo even introduced Animal Crossing amiibo cards at $5.99 per pack, which remain cheaper but often hard to find due to scalping and rarity. Now, in the Switch 2 era, amiibo are more detailed but also far more expensive, ranging from $30 to $50.
