All right, first things first. Let's talk about how big of an industry just the Whey protein supplement industry is alone by itself. Mordor Intelligence quotes it being at $6.1 billion, that's with a B dollar industry every year and that was in 2016. So two years ago, or a little less than two years ago. Okay so very interesting when we're the sales aspect and the marketing of Whey protein and that will make more sense as this video goes on. So where does Whey protein come from? Well it comes from a cow and then it's extracted from cheese and then we get it into the protein power form that we find in a bottle like this. And then we take it as a supplement and that's what we're talking about today. The muscle and the fat loss goal. Is it going to help? Is it necessary when we're talking about building muscle and burning fat. Well first up let's separate the two because usually there is a difference. All right so when we're talking about building muscle, is it necessary? The black and white answer is absolutely not. But I'm gonna explain why that is in a second. Now fat loss, we're in the same thing, it is absolutely not necessary to loose fat either. And again I'm gonna keep going and we're gonna explain why all right? This is where it gets interesting. So not for you is the real question, is it for you is it for somebody else? Now the question presents itself, is it necessary before and after workout right? Because this is what we hear in the media we're marketed to and we were told that Whey protein is good before and after workout. So is that true? Yes it is true, it is good, it is beneficial. So it is not necessary, it is beneficial and there's a big difference there. So lets talk about why it is beneficial. So first off if you're jus gonna get protein before and after you're going to maximize your protein synthesis and that is your anabolic window or we're talking about building muscle okay? So you're gonna maximize that if you have protein before and after. And then sometimes we have people talking about workout protein, but that's a whole another video. So is it beneficial before and after? Yes. But not necessary. Now why is that? It is because of the branch chain amino acid. Another big benefit to protein supplements in general not just Whey is the convenience and that's another reason why Whey has become so popular because it's so convenient. Because we're getting our BSAs to stimulate muscle growth, we're getting our essentials in there, right? And then we're getting it whenever we want it. So if you're running around town and you don't have time to eat a chicken breast, you can just have your shake. And that can be really convenient. Now let's talk about the alternative, a plant based protein. So not Whey, not KC, not egg whites, not beef. Those are all animal based, we're talking about a plant based protein now. And it can be even better than Whey and I'm gonna show you why and how. So first things first we get lower cholesterol and we get lower sodium and that's always gonna be a good thing. And then number two we have the no Whey ingredients. And what this is is all of your extra additives, your flavorings, your colors. And some people starting to be most people out there do not want that extra stuff in there. There's just no reason to have it if we can have a better supplement. Without it and still get all the benefits why not. Now number three is a big one right? Anti-inflammatory. A plant based protein that's anti-inflammatory. And this is something that can drastically help your health, so most of us are walking around with quite a bit of inflammation because we lift heavy weights. We workout hard and then on top of it we have busy lives, we have families and we're going from here to there. It's just like the Western civilized lifestyle where we're not getting enough sleep and we're really high in information. So anytime we can get something with anti-inflammatory effects we want it.
