THE SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST SACRED HEART OF JESUS// ADORATION WITH SERMON BY REV. Fr. AROKIA DASS G

COME TO ME AND REST REFERENCE: Deut 7: 6-11/ 1 Jn 4: 7-16/ Mt 11: 25-30 (16th June 2023) The Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is a celebration that falls 19 days after Pentecost, on a Friday. The liturgical feast was first celebrated in Rennes, France. Devotion to the Sacred Heart is devotion to Jesus and his love. It is a sign or a symbol of both the divine and human love that Jesus has for his Father and for us. It also symbolizes the interior life of Jesus which led to his willingness to lay down his life for us. In Catholic churches and homes, one of the most popular images of Jesus is the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It is the image of God's love revealed in the pierced heart of His Son. It is the symbol of a love that conquers sin and transcends death, the symbol of the One who loved us to the end. In the burning and wounded Sacred Heart, we see that God's heart is consumed with love for us—so much so that he was willing to suffer and die for us in the most gruesome manner. The Sacred Heart teaches us that true love is always costly, but that it always gives life. St. TERESA OF KOLKATA CHURCH, BENGALURU [email protected]
