Day 19 "Can God Redeem Your Past?" - Bible in a Year - January 19
Let me ask you a question. Do you believe that God redeem your past? What things in your family or your past do you wish weren’t part of your personal history? Can God really use them for good? Or do they disqualify you from serving God or ever being used in a meaningful way? We’ll talk more about that in today’s study. And from our New Testament reading we'll talk about the heart and the various conditions that can cause us to reject the gospel. Today's Post on the Website: https://donnareidland.com/redeeming-t... Today's Readings: Genesis 37 & 38 Psalm 9.11-20 Proverbs 3.31-35 Matthew 13.1-30 Tomorrow's Readings: Genesis 39 & 40 Psalm 10.1-11 Proverbs 4.1-6 Matthew 13.31-58 For Further Thought: 1. Is there something in your past that has kept you from stepping out and doing more for God? Or is there something that has caused you to believe God would never accept you in the first place? 2. Is there something God has impressed on your heart that you may have shared prematurely and allowed others to discourage you? If you recognize your sinful condition and want God's help and forgiveness, you might pray something like this: Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and that I can do nothing to save myself. I believe that you came and lived a sinless life, yet you willingly died on the cross as payment for my sins. I also believe that you rose again and are now seated at the right hand of the Father. Lord Jesus, please grant me godly sorrow that leads to repentance. Forgive me, fill me with your Spirit, and help me to live a life that is pleasing to you. I ask this in Your name. Amen. Next steps: 1. Find a good bible teaching church and start attending. 2. Start reading the Bible regularly. 3. Talk to God in prayer.
