Hi guys! Today's video is all about interoception in kids, What is Interoception? How does the Interoceptive sensory system impact the emotions, social skills, and emotional regulatory skills of kids? Interoception is the 8th sensory system of our body which helps us to sense and process what actually is happening inside our body ... It may be a feeling of heartbeats, hunger, feelof thirst, pain, the urge to use the bathroom, and so on ...... This is this sensory system that helps us to react to our internal feelings of hunger, thirst, pain, anger, and toileting as the output For example if the child feels hungry he will demand food or indicate towards the kitchen items. If a child wants to go for urine then either the child indicates or points towards the bathroom or pants or diapers ...But if there is any disruption in the normal processing of such internal feelings then the child faces challenges in showing the actions related to those internal feelings and thus resulting in outwards social behavioral like tantrums, meltdown, etc... #feeling #interoception #occupationaltherapy #occupatinaltherapist #priyankagupta #drpriyankagupta #ot
