Nigeria lose 1-0 to CAR in Lagos & avenge loss with 2-0 win in Yaoundé || Episode 32 || 11.10.21
In this episode of the podcast, I reviewed both of our World Cup qualification games against Central African Republic starting with the shock 1-0 loss at home in Lagos on Thursday, which was the Super Eagles first home qualifier loss in 40 years & the performance was easily one of the worst I’ve witnessed in a long time. The Super Eagles did gain a measure of revenge on Sunday in the reverse fixture winning 2-0 in Yaoundé with Leon Balogun scoring his 1st goal for the national team & Victor Osimhen scoring his 8th goal in just his 16th cap for Nigeria! The win keeps Nigeria top of Group C with 9 points ahead of our final 2 games (away vs Liberia & home vs Cape Verde) taking place next month in November with the Super Eagles needing 4 points to clinch top spot after Cape Verde beat Liberia twice scoring last-minute winners in both games over the past week giving them 7 points from 4 games so far. I also previewed the upcoming games happening this weekend as club football returns!
