How did God reveal His glory to Moses? Moses was to carry with him two stone tablets like the ones he had broken (Exodus 32:19). He was going to meet the Lord on Mount Sinai for the seventh time. His previous ascents are mentioned in the following texts: (1) Exod. 19:3, 7; (2) Exod. 19:8, 14; (3) Exod. 19:20, 25; (4) Exod. 20:21; 24:3; (5) Exod. 24:9, 12-18; 32:15; (6) Exod. 32:30, 31. Moses began his ascent early in the morning. Moses was already prepared for this glorious vision of the divine character, the beauty of which is made even clearer by this stunning revelation of the Lord's self, the most important description of who God is, the golden thread woven throughout the Bible (Num. 14:18; Neh. 9:17; Ps. 103:8; Joel 2:13; Jonah 4:2). The proclamation made here by the Lord is John 3:16 of the Old Testament. The biblical writers apply, repeat, or expand in crucial places this self-proclamation of the living God, for it is necessary that His character be correctly understood. When Moses received the unique, unprecedented, and incomparable explanation of God's name, he fell down and worshipped the Lord. When we glimpse God's love, grace, mercy, compassion, goodness, faithfulness, forgiveness, holiness, and justice, we too are drawn to Him. When we see and admire His exceptional qualities, we begin to experience a love for Him that awakens in us a desire to serve Him and be obedient to Him. Because He loves us, we also love Him (1 John 4:19). In this revelation of Himself, God assures Moses that He will perform wonderful deeds for His people and that He will lead them to the Promised Land. He also renews the covenant with them, promising that other nations will see his majesty and his amazing work. “I will make a covenant. Before all the people I will do wonders never before done in all the earth, in any nation. And all the people around you will see the awesome work that I, the Lord, will do through you” (Exodus 34:10). However, the Israelites were to obey God and follow ten clear stipulations to ensure their prosperity. Then God asked Moses to write down the content of that previously broken covenant (Exodus 34:27, 28). ==================== SABBATH SCHOOL LESSON THIRD QUARTER 2025 Narrated by: Eddie Rodriguez From: Guatemala, Guatemala ===================== || www.drministries.org || ===================
