Gotham City Falls! Batman vs. The Riddler (Zero Year Part 6)
Arden returns to close out his coverage for the Batman origins story from the New 52 called Zero Year! Featuring Batman going up against Riddler and Doctor Death, all the while Gotham is stuck by a deadly storm! We'll cover Batman vol. 2 #29, written by Scott Snyder, pencilled by Greg Capullo, inked by Danny Miki, coloured by FCO Plascencia, lettered by Steve Wands, and edited by Katie Kuber and Mark Doyle. Gotham City in this issue finally collapses to the power of Super-Storm Rene, as control over the city falls complete in the Riddler's hands. This is continued in Batman vol. 2 #30, which begins the final mini-arc of Zero Year: Savage Year. With the same creative team as before, Bruce wakes up to the Riddler's Gotham. In the home of a young Duke Thomas, Batman must decide how to save the city. This continues in issues #31, where Lucius Fox, Jim Gordon, and Batman all team up to track down the Riddler's location. To do so, Batman must fight a brutal battle against a pair of lions. Then in Batman vol. 2 #32, where Edward Nigma springs a trap on the heroes, while the government prepares a move that will destroy the city entirely. Finally, in vol. 2 #33, where Dazi Sienty replaces Wands on lettering, and with editors Mark Doyle and Matt Humphreys, Batman makes his final stand against the Riddler. With everything on the line, Bruce has no choice but to solve twelve riddles... or risk the end of Gotham City.
