Reframing in coaching – changing perspectives in systemic consulting explained simply
Reframing means giving a situation a new context. I show how this shift in perspective can be achieved in coaching and supervision, and which questions can help. What is reframing? The reframing technique is often translated as "reinterpretation." I find the term "framing" more appropriate, as it better distinguishes reframing from euphemistic spin. I explain the concepts of context reframing and content reframing using concrete examples to demonstrate their added value for systemic consulting. My focus is on the broader framework that can be drawn around things to allow for more interpretations and thus more options for action. It's about a more "systemic" perspective and application :) - - I'm Helmut Jansen, supervisor & coach (DGSv), PhD in Theology, and triathlete.
