Sunday, November 20, 2022; 11a.m.; WORSHIP LIVE!; CUMC, Endicott NY
Sunday, November 20 is the Christ the King Sunday, the final Sunday before the start of Advent. Pastor Michelle’s Scripture text will be from Deuteronomy 26. Guest organist Roger Richards and Central’s Organist/Pianist Sean Stafford will provide music for the service. Pastor Michelle will have a special message for children and prayers for healing, hope, and promise. [NOTE: Dissonance between the organ & piano in the 3rd Prelude was the result of the sanctuary failing to heat to its proper temperature in time for the start of the service thus putting the instruments out of tune.] The 8:30a.m. service is in-sanctuary only. This 11a.m. service will be hybrid. In-person, and LiveStream worshipers are all welcome! The worship bulletin and other service-related information can be found on Central’s webpage (http://centralumcendicott.org). In-building gatherings fully meet state and county Covid criteria. New York State protocols and CDC regulations continue to evolve, and Central’s practices change with them. Here’s what to expect: 1. The CDC indicates that Broome County has moved down to the "Medium" community incidence rate for Covid-19. Central welcomes masking as worshipers feel appropriate, but it is not be required. 2. All building entrances are open. Hand sanitizer are available at the sanctuary entrances. Social distance protocols and use of Friendship Pads for contact tracing will continue. 3. Childcare, Christian Education, and Faith Formation have resumed. There are no plans yet to re-start Café Central. Contact the church office (607-754-6060; [email protected]) for van transportation and all of the latest details. During Covid Central’s service to our neighbors, our community, and our world have shifted and changed; but also adapted and developed imaginative and creative ministries. God’s spirit remains among us, no matter what, and we continue to live out the truth that wherever two or more are gathered- Jesus will be there! We are invited and encouraged to set our reminders, set our spirits and souls, and participate in fellowship and worship this Sunday- whether virtually or in-person. May it empower us for witness and service all week long! FOLLOW CENTRAL: - / central-umc - / central_umchurch -get Central’s Smartphone app: Search “Central UMC Endicott” in app stores!
