PFLA Webinar - Restoring and creating small areas of native wildflower meadow
Join Plantlife (https://www.plantlife.org.uk/uk) and the Pasture-Fed Livestock Association (PFLA) for the third in a series of webinars on how to restore or create smaller-scale, species-rich meadows in any green space - with or without livestock. The potential to restore and create networks of species-rich meadow and grassland across both our rural and urban landscapes is immense. Whether on roadsides, driveways, lawns, parks and amenity areas, on hospital and university grounds, in cemeteries and graveyards or in patches of pasture, we can transform the fortunes of our native flora and the wildlife that relies on them through simple changes in how we manage our many and varied grasslands. Join Plantlife’s Magnificent Meadows Cymru team and the Pasture-Fed Livestock Association (PFLA) to discuss the potential and practice of restoring smaller-scale meadow strips, patches and plots. We will showcase projects run by community groups, private landowners and town councils from across Wales and elsewhere who are at different stages of their meadow-making journey. We will cover meadow management principles and possibilities - such as natural and native seeding approaches to help “keep the wild in wildflower”, and borrowing livestock, as well as some of the common challenges and recommended solutions.
