I Give My Word — 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year C (12/10/25)
28th Sunday in Ordinary Time — readings commented on by Aleksandra Mieczyńska and Prof. Adam Regiewicz. 1st Reading (2 Kings 5:14-17) The Healing of Naaman A reading from the Second Book of Kings The Syrian general Naaman, who was a leper, dipped himself seven times in the Jordan River, according to the word of the man of God. His flesh was restored to that of a little boy, and he was cleansed. Then he returned to the man of God with his entire retinue, entered, and stood before him, saying, "Behold, I know that there is no God in all the earth except Israel. Now, please accept a gift from your servant!" He replied, "As the Lord lives, before whom I stand, I will not take it!" The man urged him to accept it, but he refused. Then Naaman said, "If you are not willing, then let them give your servant as much earth as a pair of mules can carry, for from now on your servant will not offer burnt offering or sacrifice to other gods but to the Lord." 2nd Reading (2 Tim 2:8-13) If we endure, we will reign with Christ A reading from the Second Letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to Timothy Beloved: Remember Jesus Christ, the offspring of David. He was raised from the dead according to my gospel. For this I endure affliction, even to the point of chains like a criminal; but the word of God is not bound. Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain salvation in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. This is a faithful teaching: For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him. If we persevere, we will also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He will deny us. If we are unfaithful, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. Gospel (Luke 17:11-19) The Ingratitude of Those Healed of Leprosy Words from the Gospel According to Saint Luke It happened that Jesus, on his way to Jerusalem, was passing through the border between Samaria and Galilee. As they were entering a village, ten lepers met Him. They stood at a distance and cried out, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!" When He saw them, He said to them, "Go, show yourselves to the priests!" And as they were going, they were cleansed. Then one of them, seeing that he was healed, returned, praising God with a loud voice, and fell on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. Jesus said, "Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give glory to God but this foreigner?" And to him He said, "Arise, go; your faith has healed you." #patronite Support our work! - https://patronite.pl/radiofiat Interviewer: Aleksandra Mieczyńska Editing and production: Karolina Kołacz and Marta Kluczniak Graphics: Marta Kluczniak
