Dec 18 2022 LIVE Sunday Service "And Then There Was Mary" Rev Gerald D Kisner, Pastor

Welcome to TABVirtual - the online worship service of the historic Tabernacle Baptist Church in West Palm Beach, FL. Organized in 1893. According to the Christmas tradition, the Magi (Three Kings) will soon see the Christmas Star and begin their journey to find the baby Jesus. They will be bringing gifts for the Messiah and a warning to help Jesus and His family escape the coming persecution of King Herod. Join Rev. Kisner and the Tabernacle congregation as they celebrate the last Sunday in the season of Advent. The 4th candle symbolizing LOVE and the CHRIST candle are illuminated today during the Advent ceremony. Worship music is provided by members of the Tabernacle Gospel Chorus. Sing along to the marvelous Christmas music they perform throughout the worship service. Today's sermon comes from the New Testament book of Luke. Rev. Kisner expounds on the power of Mary's words found in Luke 1:46-55. In these verses, Mary praises God for choosing her to give birth to the Redeemer. She foreshadows how the Christ child would grow up to change the world! She tells her cousin Elizabeth that she (Mary) knows that she will be called blessed for generations to come. Elizabeth is pregnant, too. The child she is carrying will grow up to be John the Baptist. Even though he is still in his mother Elizabeth's womb, John already starts to proclaim that Jesus is the Messiah. Elizabeth tells her cousin Mary that the baby John started jumping in her womb when Mary arrived at Elizabeth's home. Advent season and Christmas are a holy and miraculous time for Christians because it shows how God can use ordinary people to do extraordinary things. We all can do magnificent things when we obey God's Word and trust in His promises. Be like Mary. Trust God, be blessed, and make the world a better place by sharing the love of Christ with those you find right where you are.
