Ash Wednesday Worship - February 14, 2024

Ash Wednesday - Mark 9:30-37 Comparison and ranking are regular parts of our lives today - and they were common in Jesus' time too. The disciples argued about who was the greatest, right on the heels of Jesus' 2nd passion prediction. Jesus reminds them that greatness is to be found in serving one another and honoring those of lower status. At the foot of the cross, we are all equal, all made from the same dust, and all beloved by God who made us. So we are set free to live anew rather than competing with others, following in the path of Jesus.
