Throughout the years Eileen Myles has written a wide range of poems, books, and other works. These include: 'Chelsea Girls,' 'Not Me,' 'Bread and Water,' 'The New Fuck You: Adventures in Lesbian Reading,' 'Afterglow: A Dog Memoir,' 'I Must Be Living Twice,' 'Cool For You,' 'Sorry, Tree,' 'Skies,' 'Inferno,' 'Evolution,' and 'Snow-Flake.' Poetry is so many different things to different people. "Poetry is never any one thing, or fitting into something, or, I think even serving something's needs exactly," says Myles. In 1992, Eileen Myles ran for president of the United States of America. Reflecting back, Myles says, "I represent people making under $50,000 a year, females, queers, activists, I mean there were so many people that I represented, you know, that I thought if all those people voted for me, I would win." Eileen did not win election, however 14 years later, on November 6, 2016, Eileen Myles delivered a long-awaited acceptance speech, as part of a performance.
