CATHOLIC MEDITATION: 14 November, 2024. ⛪📖🖊️ 🟩 THURSDAY 🟩 32ND WEEK - ORDINARY TIME, YEAR B. 1st R : Philemon 7-20. Resp. Psalm : Ps. 146. R/ - Blessed is he who is helped by Jacob's God. Gosp. : Lk. 17:20-25. Message : OPEN YOUR HEART AND FIND A PLACE TO FORGIVE AND ACCEPT THOSE WHO HAVE WRONGED YOU. Philemon was the leader of the Church at Colossae. He was very wealthy and had a slave boy, Onesimus. Onesimus stole his master's money and ran away to meet Paul in Rome. Paul does not cover him up nor protect him. He sends him back to his master to apologize and begs Philemon to forgive him and accept him back, appealing to Philemon's good heart of love, not compelling him. This is how to resolve conflicts among Christians and in a Christian way. You, too, have your own 'Onesimuses' who have wronged you. Open your heart, forgive, and accept them back. And if someone comes to you who has done wrong, rebuke their wrong and ask them to apologise to the offended. Do not try to be blind to their mistakes because they are your friends. Fr. Blessed Ambang Njume
