What does success mean to you? Is it wealth, fame, power, or achieving all your dreams? Society often defines success by material possessions, career achievements, or social status. But is this the real success that brings true peace and happiness? We see celebrities, billionaires, and influential people who seemingly "have it all," yet many of them struggle with depression, emptiness, and even take extreme measures to escape their reality. On the other hand, we see righteous people with fewer material possessions but with hearts full of peace, contentment, and purpose. So, the question arises: What is true success? And more importantly, how can YOU achieve it? Today, we will uncover the ultimate secret to true success—the kind that brings real fulfillment, peace of mind, and blessings in both Dunya (this world) and Akhirah (the Hereafter). So, if you’ve been feeling lost, stuck, or unsure about the path to success, stay with me till the end because this lesson can change your life forever! 1. The World’s Definition vs. Islam’s Definition of Success Society tells us: ✅ You need a high-paying job to be successful ✅ You need a luxurious house, car, and lifestyle ✅ You must be famous and well-known ✅ You should always be achieving more But let’s take a look at the Islamic definition of success. Allah (SWT) says in the Quran: "And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out and will provide for him from where he does not expect." (Quran 65:2-3) True success is not measured by money, possessions, or status. Instead, it is measured by your faith, character, patience, and ability to stay firm on the path of Allah. Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: "True richness is not having a lot of wealth, but true richness is self-contentment." (Sahih al-Bukhari) This means success is not about how much you have, but how satisfied and at peace you are with what Allah has given you. 2. The Biggest Myth About Success: "More Equals Happiness" One of the biggest lies we are told is that having more leads to happiness. ❌ More money = More happiness ❌ More fame = More fulfillment ❌ More achievements = More peace But how many rich and famous people are truly happy? 🔹 Steve Jobs, one of the richest and most influential people in the tech world, once said on his deathbed: "In the end, wealth is just a part of life. I realize that material things do not bring happiness, and real joy comes from relationships, purpose, and giving." 🔹 Jim Carrey, a famous actor, once said: "I wish everyone could become rich and famous so they could see that it’s not the answer." These statements prove that "worldly success" is an illusion. It gives temporary satisfaction but does not bring long-term peace and fulfillment. The real question is: If money and fame don’t bring true success, then what does? 3. The 3-Step Formula for True Success in Islam Islam gives us a proven formula for achieving success that lasts beyond this world. Here are the 3 key elements of true success: Step 1: Tawakkul (Trust in Allah) + Action Tawakkul means complete reliance on Allah while also taking action. Some people make the mistake of thinking success only comes from hard work, while others believe just making Dua is enough. But true success comes when you combine both: ✅ Make an effort – Work hard, set goals, and take steps toward achieving them. ✅ Trust Allah’s Plan – Know that whatever happens is part of Allah’s divine wisdom. Allah (SWT) says: "And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who rely upon Him." (Quran 3:159) The key lesson? Work hard but leave the results to Allah! Step 2: Sabr (Patience) & Gratitude Life is full of ups and downs. Sometimes we succeed, sometimes we fail. But Islam teaches us that both success and failure are tests from Allah. ✅ If things go well → Be grateful and do not become arrogant. ✅ If things go wrong → Be patient and trust Allah’s plan. The most successful people in history had patience during struggles and gratitude during ease. Step 3: Consistency & Duas Many people think making one big effort is enough for success. But Islam teaches us the power of consistency. Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: "The most beloved actions to Allah are those that are consistent, even if they are small." (Sahih al-Bukhari) 📌 Now it’s your turn! 👉 What does success mean to YOU?
