Can we learn better? | Douglas Busacker | TEDxRoppongi

Douglas’s talk reminds us that we live in an age when humans create more information in a single week than all the information created from the dawn of man to the beginning of the 21st century and that we must now learn better. Douglas has researched and applied concepts such as neuroplasticity, grit, growth mindset, the systems of our brains, meditation, mindfulness, positive psychology, and more, to teach and learn better. His current work at Tokyo Academics empowers him to cultivate an ecosystem of expert teachers and expert learners for optimal synergy. Douglas Busacker is a lifelong learner, teacher, and communicator dedicated to enhancing educational systems through the application of neurobiological and psychological principles. He earned a BS in Electrical Engineer at the University of Washington, where the concept of an adaptive filter first piqued his interest in learning as a system. While teaching and training teachers extensively for the past decade, Douglas has been refining his teaching systems through research on the science of learning. Recently, at Tokyo Academics, Douglas specializes in teaching students and teachers how to learn and teach effectively. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
