SOUNDBITE (English) Eric Tucker, Associated Press: “This surrender is going to be different than several of the others that we have seen earlier this year because there's not going to be a court appearance--that's done separately. So we expect them to be processed at the jail. We expect to be, again, a fairly perfunctory surrender. But we do know from Trump himself that that's taking place on Thursday.” ASSOCIATED PRESS Salem, New Hampshire – 28 January 2023 6. SOUNDBITE (English) Eric Tucker, Associated Press: “We've learned several things over the last week as it relates to Donald Trump's surrender: We know that his attorneys have agreed to a $200,000 bond with several conditions, and what's notable about those conditions is that they are designed to limit his speech and they explicitly prohibit him from issuing any threats, trying to influence any witnesses, trying to cause any chaos on the ground in Fulton County or incite any sort of action.” ASSOCIATED PRESS - MUST CREDIT DANA VERKOUTEREN Washington – 3 August 2023 9. SOUNDBITE (English) Eric Tucker, Associated Press ++ENDS ON SOUNDBITE++ STORYLINE: Former President Donald Trump says he will surrender to authorities in Georgia on Thursday to face charges in the case accusing him of illegally scheming to overturn his 2020 election loss. Writing on his social media network Monday night, Trump said: “Can you believe it? I’ll be going to Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday to be ARRESTED.” Hours earlier, his bond had been set at $200,000. Associated Press reporter Eric Tucker explains how this surrender will differ from the three that came before it. “This surrender is going to be different than several of the others that we have seen earlier this year because there's not going to be a court appearance--that's done separately. So, we expect them to be processed at the jail. We expect to be, again, a fairly perfunctory surrender. But we do know from Trump himself that that's taking place on Thursday,” Tucker said. However, Trump’s surrender in Georgia is expected to look similar to the surrender of other criminal defendants.
