We played the Nintendo Switch 2 version; join us to find out. Pokémon Legends: Z-A is a video game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company for Nintendo Switch. Announced in February 2024, it is part of the ninth generation of the Pokémon video game series. It takes place in Lumiose City, Kalos region, which are based on Paris and France, respectively. These locations first appeared in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, released for Nintendo 3DS in 2013. It is the second video game in the Pokémon Legends series, following Pokémon Legends: Arceus, released in 2022 for Nintendo Switch. It was released on October 16, 2025.
