In Part 4 of our "Why You Need Powerful Lighting for Filmmaking" series, we take a look at the Nanlux 1200B and how a high output lighting fixture like this can enable you the flexibility to create images exactly how you want them to look. Along with the flexibility of bi-color and a lower power draw than it's 2 pricier competitors, the Arri M18 and Arri D25, the 1200B also has an IP54 rating, meaning you can use it rain or snow. That's a big bonus if you're in the UK! ;) As we've stepped up the output of our lights in each subsequent part of the series, this is a somewhat bigger step than the last 3 units - and with a full fresnel setup on a combo or wind up stand, this light will generally require more than one person to assemble and raise safely on a heavy duty stand. I'm forever thankful to companies like Nanlux in providing me the means to demonstrate their lighting, whilst (hopefully) being able to teach and inspire others in their own visual practises and learning more about light myself in doing so.
