Grandmaster Galaxy: The Ultimate Test and The Perfect Run (I finally beat Super Mario Galaxy 2!!!)

Watch as I finally attempt the final galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy 2! Watch as I fail many, many times, but try, try again and persevere until I finally make it! I forgot the comet medal the first time I got The Ultimate Test star however, so I went back for it. This is a very special moment for me, and here's why: On May 31, 2012, I play Super Mario Galaxy 2 for the very first time after renting it from Blockbuster, which was still around in my area at the time. You probably know Blockbuster's sad fate already, going out of buisness... but before then, that was where I first discovered Super Mario Galaxy 2. The cover caught my eye as a little kid and I was interested in playing it. I loved Super Mario Galaxy 2 so much I couldn't let it go, so I bought the game to continue the adventure. Ever since, Super Mario Galaxy 2 has been in my life and was my place to go after another horrible day of being bullied by the entire grade in Elementary school (no I'm not exaggerating, this is true. Okay, most of the grade. But yes. It was really bad, and Super Mario Galaxy 2 was there for me in those times of stress). In February 16, 2014, I beat Bowser and discover the special world for the first time. (I also get the first Super Mario Galaxy in 2014 and love it too!) And now, eight entire years later since I first began, I finally collect the last Green Stars I've been putting off for years and here it is...the final galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy 2. Ever since I began my amazing journey way back in 2012, I've always wondered if I would ever be able to play to the very end of this amazing, true, incredible masterpiece. And now, with Grandmaster Galaxy at long last revealed, the final, ultimate challenge, I wondered...could I do it? Could I at long last beat one of my all time favorite childhood games? Did I have what it took to accomplish this feat, after years of playing and gaining experience along the way? Was I ready for this final challenge? Let it be known that on August 12, 2020, at around 8 pm... I've finally done it. I finished Super Mario Galaxy 2. My heart was pounding so hard it was in my throat and I was freaking out as I made my way through the last area in The Perfect Run, but I made it. I did it! I have gone on an incredible journey over the years that will never be forgotten, and I will always treasure those fond memories I have of this game. Thank you, Nintendo, for making the Super Mario Galaxy games, and putting in the effort to make both games so gorgeous. I am grateful to have these amazing games around, and they will always be my all time favorite video games :) (Next up is finishing Super Mario 64, which I started in 2019, and the first Super Mario Galaxy!)
