This is a qolo in the tune Zodek d’Nehwe, chanted in tone 1. This is qolo appears in the Third Hour prayers of Christmas day in the Pampakuda text of the Fenqitho. But this stanza is not there. The English translation of this qolo is: The Virgin Mary, bore a child who weaves crowns for His righteous ones And Zion heard this and was disturbed and moved before seeing Him For she had read – the prophets’ writings And told Herod – the King had been born. He sent his men, who killed the first-born infants in Bethlehem But his kingdom perished, and Jesus ruled forever Let us praise Him at His birth – Halleluiah and Halleluiah
