SPREADING 325,000 LITERS OF MANURE TO BOOST OUR FIELDS FOR YEAR 2! | Courtland, MN | FS25 #18

In today’s episode, we officially kick off Year 2 on the MEGA Dairy Farm, and we’re starting things off with another payday as our cows continue producing thousands of liters of Milk—and we’ve got a brand new field job to take on as well! If you caught the last episode, you'll know we wrapped up Year 1 with our very first major payday, selling all of the Corn and Wheat we harvested during our first ever Fall harvest. After hauling everything into town, our bank account climbed close to one million dollars, giving us a strong foundation heading into Year 2. But today, we’re stacking even more profit on top of that. Last episode we bought a brand new Walker food-grade tanker trailer so we could finally start transporting Milk from our cow barn into town. And today, that trailer will be earning its keep because our cows have been busy over the Winter—producing over 200,000 liters of Milk that are ready to sell. We’ll kick off the morning by hopping into our International semi truck, hauling the first tanker full of Milk down to the sell point, and getting paid right away. While we’re there, I’ll also be setting up a brand-new AutoDrive route that will completely automate our Milk production cycle moving forward. Once the routes are set up correctly, our tanker will continuously haul Milk into town, return to the dairy barn, refill itself, and repeat the entire process! Back at the farm, though, we’ve run into another situation that needs urgent attention. With 900 dairy cows on the farm, Milk isn’t the only thing piling up—our manure pit is almost overflowing. The cows have produced over 325,000 liters of manure, and our bunker is nearly maxed out. So today, for the first time on the Courtland MEGA Farm, we’re diving into manure spreading. We’ll start by firing up both of our JBS 2248 spreaders. These machines hold a massive amount of material and will be perfect for today’s job. I’ll jump into another one of our semi trucks, hook up the Trout River Live Bottom trailer, and start hauling loads of manure across the farm to a nearby 70-acre field that we’ll be treating today. Before we begin spreading, I want to build up a large stockpile of manure in one corner of the field. We’ll position our CAT wheel loader right next to it so we can continuously load our spreaders as they empty. Today’s goal is to spread every last drop of the 325,000 liters of manure our cows have produced and get this field fully fertilized using organic material straight from the dairy barn. With Milk sales rolling in all day through AutoDrive, and with our manure spreading operation running non-stop across the field, we’ll be starting Year 2 with strong profits, healthier soil, and a farm that’s becoming more efficient than ever.
