The rumours of Strand taking over the Kumasi-based club come after Kotoko’s poor start to the season. Communications manager Kwaku Ahenkorah however denied the reports and says Kotoko is contracted to David Duncan. Mubarak Wakaso is set to undergo a scan on Tuesday to determine the progress of his recovery from a muscle injury. The 25-year-old, who was an injury doubt ahead of Ghana's 3-1 win Mozambique last Thursday, appears to have aggravated the injury he picked while playing for Las Palmas and is set for some time on the sidelines. Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, the Minister of Youth and Sports has slashed the winning bonus for the senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars. The Minister says the decision comes after three nights of negotiations with players explaining to them the current economic challenges facing the nation. The Sports minister however failed to disclose the new amount the Black Stars will be taking. David Duncan’s men have accumulated just five points from a possible 15 in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season are 12th on the log. Kotoko also struggled against third-tier team AK Shion before eliminating them on penalties in the MTN FA Cup.
